It's Official! We are open for 2010!

We have been busy putting the store back together for another year and today is our first day open for 2010!
The weather is beautiful today and I can't wait to get down to the store to put on the first pot of coffee of the year! I look forward to seeing the regular customers and meet

Finally, Spring is here.

Labour Day Weekend

Summer went by so quickly! Labour Day weekend is coming and that will be the changeover to our Fall Hours and it will also be one last day for cupcakes.
Unfortunately, the kids have to return to school and that includes Heather our Cupcake Specialist.

Just in time for the summer weather! New Grilling Sauces

We were fortunate to be introduced to some new sauces this summer and now we have received our first shipment.
"Just Wing It" Sauces are delicious and very versatile.
The Chipotle Maple sauce was delicious on my grilled chicken - gave it a nice bit of heat and savou -

What a summer it has been! A couple of nice sunny days followed by overcast and the odd bit of rain. Our only positive is knowing that all of Ontario has been going through the same thing.
This has not stopped the creativity in the kitchen, I am happy to say!

Summerfest was a great success - once the weather cleared!

The day started overcast and drizzling but miraculously cleared as events started! The Pancake Breakfast was a popular start to the day and the silent auction had some great buys!

There are so many things going on around town this weekend with summerfest on in Kagawong!
Stop into town to participate in the events and hope that we don't have the fireworks delayed due to rain!

Rivermist Designs - Manitoulin Wooden Ornaments have arrived!

We are happy to carry RiverMist Manitoulin Ornaments again! The new one for 2009 is an inukshuk made of oak with the unique shape of Manitoulin Island. You have to see it to believe it!

Kagawong Market Opens for 2009

Tomorrow - July 1st is the first day of our local market.
I believe the hours are Wednesdays 12 - 4 and there is usually fresh baked goods, crafts, local vegetables, jams and jellies and spices. I always find something good there but unfortunately it only lasts for July and August!

Spring Weather! Finally!

May Long Weekend

What chilly weather the local High School kids had for their annual release of rubber duckies down the local Kagawong River. They release the ducks at the bridge over the river and the first ones caught at the mouth of the river win a prize. I don't think you could pay me enough to stand in t -
